 Voice Mail & Calling Features:

Convenience, security, peace of mind - these are just a few of the benefits to be found with voice mail and the many other calling features offered by McDonough Telephone.

The service charge for adding a calling feature has been waived. There is a $10.00 service charge for removing a calling feature after it has been in place on an account for over 30 days.

Automatic Call Back

  • Tries to complete a call to the last number dialed
  • Dial *66 to activate; dial *86 to deactivate

Automatic Recall

  • Announces the number of the last incoming call and recalls the number if desired; will continue trying to redial for 30 minutes
  • Dial *69 to activate; Dial *89 to deactivate

Call Waiting

  • Alerts you to an incoming call while you're on the phone
  • Depress and release hookswitch to be connected to the new caller; depress and release hookswitch again to return to original caller

Cancel Call Waiting (included with Call Waiting)

  • Turns off Call Waiting for the duration of an individual phone call
  • Dial 70# to activate before placing a call

Call Forwarding

  • Forwards calls to another phone number
  • Dial 72# to activate and dial number where you want calls forwarded; if no answer at destination number, repeat sequence; Dial 73# to deactivate

Caller ID - Number Only

  • Displays the number, time and date of an incoming call
  • Requires the purchase of a Caller ID device

Caller ID - Name and Number

  • Displays the name, number, time and date of an incoming call
  • Requires the purchase of a Caller ID device with name and number display capabilities

Caller ID - Call Waiting

  • Displays the name, number, time and date of an incoming call both in the regular manner and when you receive the Call Waiting tone
  • Requires the purchase of a Caller ID device with name and number display capabilities and with Call Waiting display function; YOU MUST ALSO SUBSCRIBE TO CALL WAITING

Caller ID Blocking (free service)

  • Prevents delivery of your name and number to other Caller ID devices
  • Dial *67 to activate before each call for blocking to be in effect

Changed Number Announcement

  • Announces your new phone number to callers when you have moved or have your number changed
  • Available in three-month blocks of time

Member Originated Trace

  • Initiates a trace on the last incoming call; the information is recorded in the cooperative office and will be released to a law enforcement agency upon receipt of proper authorization
  • Contact our business office for instructions

Selective Call Acceptance

  • Allows only calls from a list of numbers you specify to ring through; all other calls will be rejected
  • Dial *64 and follow instructions

Selective Call Forwarding

  • Allows only calls from a list of numbers you specify to be forwarded to another telephone number
  • Dial *63 and follow the instructions

Selective Call Rejection

  • Reroutes calls from a defined list of numbers to an announcement and rejects them; all other calls ring through
  • Dial *60 and follow the instructions

Simultaneous Ring

  • Allows a group of five user-defined numbers to be alerted at the same time when an incoming call is received.
  • The first one to answeraccepts the call, and the calls to the other alerted directory numbers are released.

Speed Calling - 8 Number

  • Allows you to establish a list of 8 numbers that can be called by dialing a one-digit code
  • Dial 74# to program and listen for the dial tone. Press the one-digit (2-9) code followed by the phone number; two tone bursts indicate the number is recorded. Repeat procedure to enter up to eight numbers. To use, dial the one-digit (2-9) code and press #.

Speed Calling - 30 Number

  • Allows you to establish a list of 30 numbers that can be called by dialing a two-digit code
  • Dial 75# to program and listen for the dial tone. Press the two digit (20-49) code followed by the phone number; two tone bursts indicate the number is recorded. Repeat procedure to enter up to 30 numbers. To use, dial the two-digit (20-49) code and press #.

Teen Ringing

  • Connects two phone numbers to a single party line, each having a unique ringing pattern
  • Great for families with teenagers, a home business, or a fax machine; if you have Call Waiting, one beep indicates a call for your primary number and two short beeps indicate a call for your secondary number.

Smart Telemarketer Call Screening

  • Intercepts calls delivered as "out of area" or "unknown" and announces you do not accept calls from telemarketers; instructs telemarketers to put you on their "do not call" list
  • Intercepted callers who are not telemarketers are instructed to press "1" or stay on the line to be connected; other calls are delivered in the normal manner
  • Allows you to set up your own Blocked List and Known List and gives you the option to block calls from Private callers.

Three-Way Calling

  • Allows you to carry on a three-way conversation with parties at two other locations
  • During your initial call, depress hookswitch for one second to put Person A on hold; listen for a tone burst followed by a dial tone. Dial the number of Person B. When B answers, press hookswitch for one second to get Person A back on line.

Toll Control With PIN

  • Blocks all outgoing 1+ calls from your phone unless a four-digit PIN number is entered; local calls can also be blocked if you wish
  • Dial the number you wish to call; a recording tells you the number can't be dialed from this phone. Enter your four-digit PIN and the call goes through

Voice Mail (Includes "Call Forward Don't Answer" and "Call Forward Busy" calling features)

  • Allows you to receive messages whether your phone is busy or goes unanswered
  • Detailed instructions available when you sign up for this feature; no equipment purchase necessary

Other Available Services:

  • Automatic Line - Automatically connects your phone to a preassigned number when it is removed from the hook
  • Conference Bridge - Offered free to our business customers; allows up to 18 sites to be tied together on one call; contact our plant department for scheduling
  • Denied Origination - Allows only incoming calls
  • Denied Termination - Allows only outgoing calls
  • Toll Denial - Restricts your line from originating toll calls
  • Universal Transfer - Allows the transfer of an established call to another line; requires Three- Way Calling
  • Warm Line - Similar to Automatic Line but with a specified amount of time allowed to dial another number before preassigned number is dialed
